New “Salsa” works at On the Edge Gallery

On the Edge Gallery, Scottsdale, Arizona

I’m so excited to be included in the fabulous new On the Edge Gallery in Old Scottsdale’s Art District.  I am introducing my new “Salsa Art”, Mexican folk art using handmade tiles, rusted nails, bottle caps and other upcycle items.  I am also featuring a copper-black-and brown mixed media mirror, and other handmade tile mosaic mirrors.

There are are forty five Arizona artists in the On the Edge Gallery.  The work is over the top quality, original and well executed.  Because it is a co-operative gallery you have the opportunity meet artists when you come in and enjoy direct from the artist pricing.  Check out the gallery:  http://ontheedgegallery.com/

Come see us on Thursday evening art walk or any day ten to six, Sunday eleven to five.  On The Edge Gallery, 7050 E. Fifth Avenue, Scottsdale, Arizona.  We are just west of the Fountain at Marshall Way and Fifth.

Fountain Hills Artists Gallery, Fountain Hills, Arizona

This gallery is a wonderful surprise and the BEST in Fountain Hills.  There are about thirty artists with wonderful variety, lots of fine craft including (my) mosaics, fiber art, wood, glass and jewelry.  The photography is original, the gourds beautiful and a nice variety of paintings in various mediums.  My best sellers in the Fountain Hills Artists Gallery are mixed media mosac mirrors, handmade tile mirrors and upcycled trays with handmade tile mosaics!

When you go to see the fountain be sure to stop in:  16858 E. Avenue of the Fountains, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268

February 23 and 24, 2013 is the ASU Ceramic Research Center Annual Tour (CRC TOUR)

To be juried and included with this elete group of Arizona ceramic artists is one of my biggest honors.  This is the thirteenth annual tour and is all over the Phoenix valley to several ceramic studios where you will see the work of a few potters at each studio.  There will be demonstrations at each studio in the two days of the show.  Check out the website for your map and demonstration schedule:  http://asuartmuseum.asu.edu/studiotour/             or http://www.facebook.com/CeramicStudioTour

Vickie Morrow’s Tile, Art and Mosaic Studio is open by appointment!

There is always something new going on in my studio and usually several projects.  Right now there are two six foot tables set up in the living area to assemble a Membres Indian contemporary design backsplash for a home in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The kiln is full and firing bright tiles in aquas, reds, purples, golden yellows and cobalt blue!  Sneak into the studio and you will find my new line of ceramic and African bead jewelry in the design and assembly stages.

I have lots of handmade tiles for your choosing and sell them by the square inch as well as finished mosaic art pieces and pottery available.  Call me to set a time to come by.  602-615-1146

Ignore the dust.  It is actually a protective coating on most everything in the house and studio!

I look forward to your visit.

Vickie Morrow, Arizona handmade tile mosaic artist.
