Handmade art tiles and handmade buttons along with great hangies were to be my offerings during the Shopping Extravaganza. Then I got a little carried away. Now I have a big box of nails, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, pins etc so heavy I can’t move it! There is a flying goddess, lots of round rusted lids, parts, rusty tools, saw blades, vintage road maps, old printers number and letter sets, three Smith Corona Typewriters, a big pile of crocheted table runners, doilies and clothes, fuses, match books, a full set of World Book Encyclopedias, Boy and Girl Scout vintage Handbooks, sheet music and music books, ...

After two years and three weeks the six piece mosaic is complete and on it’s way to the new Salvation Army Phoenix South Mountain Kroc Center on a truck! The children from Rose Linda school make thier tile hands over a year ago, the little houses made by families in South Mountain last summer, tile made by artist friends and neighbors, every Monday since September……… Every room in my house became part of this project. Long tables filled my living room as we worked around them to assemble and set each mosaic panel. As the panels were completed I stacked them sideways against the wall in my bedroom.
